How to Add Themes in iDVD iDVD is a program for authoring, or designing, a DVD. IDVD works well with iMovie (and also with iTunes and iPhoto). IDVD is based on the concept of themes (menu designs for your DVD), with differing background images, button styles, fonts, music, and animations. Click the Themes button and scroll through the list on the right to choose a theme that meets your requirements. Keep in mind that many iDVD themes have menus with motion and sounds. You can turn motion and sound on or off by clicking the motion button (it’s the one with the two arrows that don’t quite complete a full circle) on the iDVD toolbar.

Many themes default to the widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio available on HDTVs (and some analog TVs). These themes work also in the standard (4:3) format. You can also choose themes from prior versions of iDVD (pre-7.0 themes).

Well, my practice has been to delete that box as soon as iDVD is launched and that theme chosen. I do that because I've assumed that that text would remain where it is, and thus be confused with the title of the video which was the whole point of creating the DVD. I had forgotten the relationship between that text and the same text around the rotating graphic. Now you would think (or, at least, I would think in retrospect) that that would remove 'Revolution Main' from the rotating graphic on the left, but it doesn't. I have discovered that, unless I just delete the text (and not the box containing it) the rotating 'Revolution Main' remains and there's nothing I can do to get rid of it. For my purposes the text in that location is redundant, and partially obscures the drop zones that I want viewers to see.
