I have recently installed XYPlorer on my 64bit Windows 10 (Build 1607) machine. There seems to be a problem with the default application for viewing images. Everytime I try to open a.jpg image from within XYplorer, the 'How Do You Want To Open This File' dialog opens (see screenshot). No matter which choice I make and having checked the 'Always Use This App' check box, the setting is not held and the dialogue constantly reappears next time I try to open an image. If I double click on an image outside of XYplorer, from the desktop for example, the chosen default application opens OK.
Does anyone have an answer to this? Hi and welcome to the XYplorer forum. I had very similar experience when I upgraded to Windows 10, but only on one of three Windows 10 computers.
I did finally fix the problem. I use ImageEye as my default viewer, but the dialog box you refer to kept coming up and as you said, it's very annoying.
It's been awhile since I fixed the issue, but I first went into Settings from the start menu, then selected 'System' and from there selected 'Default App'. For the category 'Photo Viewer', select the image viewer you want as the default. Gma 3150 kext mod. Torrent paris je t aime spanish flag.
I remember having to do this a few times. From the Default Apps screen you can also scroll down to see 'Choose Default apps by file type' and change the associations as you see fit. Finally after many repeats, the setting 'stuck'. I remember also going into the registry as well but hopefully that won't be necessary in your case. If it's not sticking, you may want to do a cold reboot after applying the setting. I also checked the 'Previewed Formats' in XY's Configuration, just to make sure they are correct and properly checked off for Image Files catagory, but I don't believe I had to change anything in XYplorer. Edit: A better method may be to go from the Default Apps screen under Settings and scroll down to the very last option, which is 'Set defaults by app'.
This will bring up the older Windows method for setting the defaults (via Control Panel). From there you would select your viewing application, as in my case ImageEye, and you would select all the file types like GIF and JPG you want associated with that viewer. Try something different then. You settings folder is in: 'C: Users AppData Roaming' So maybe in your case: C: Users riggy69 AppData Roaming I will refer to the location of this folder by%appdata% (it resolves to.
